Perfect as a standby/backup smart device – For the price, this phone is pretty fine. I use this as a portable jukebox/speedometer for my e-scooter and a backup phone in case my primary one gets lots/dies. Ran a full test of the camera and the images/videos appear without any issues, although I don’t see myself using this phone for too many audio/video applications. The phone feels solid and the screen is very nice, but the processor is a bit sluggish. Given the price, however, not too big an issue. This would be good for a teenager with an intentionally very limited data plan. . . .

Basic phone with premium feel – Let’s start with the positive aspects: Phone is beautiful. I love the style, and overall it looks sturdy and has a premium feeling. The screen is nice and bright, and the camera takes nice pictures for being in the low price range. Battery is also a great selling point.

A week with the Umidigi G1 – Disclaimer: I am supposed to receive a partial refund of the purchase price from Umidigi for leaving a product review. This is the first such product I’ve review for them, after owning numerous Umidigi phones over the past 3 or 4 years and recently two of their smart watches and leaving reviews (not always positive) for those devices.
