Works as good as my Grand Sons’ more expensive phone. – Normal everyday communications .

  2. O. K (verified owner)

Very Happy Overall, Tech Support Unresponsive – If not for the fact that callers must endure seven rings before being forwarded to voicemail, I would give it 5 stars. My carrier says it’s a manufacturer issue. A big improvement from the Umidigi A3 Pro previously owned. Inquiries to tech support via the TCL website and Facebook page have not been answered.

  3. D. L (verified owner)

Great Value – Worth buying for the price. Has most of the desirable features you would want and functions just as well. There are small quirks here and there that were a deal breaker for my needs, but I still recommend the phone.

  4. K. M (verified owner)

Imcompatible with Google FI – Great phone for the price, used it for several month now without (major) problems on T-Mobile. Recently switched to Google FI (which also uses the T-Mobile network), but this phone is incompatible. Keeps connecting disconnecting/ voice calls sometimes go through, but most times don’t. Tried everything (de-installing/ re-installing Google FI App), contacted Google support (they stated it is not on their list of supported phones, so most likely incompatible) – it just won’t work. Put the same Google FI SIM card into my Moto phone and it works without a hitch. One other small incompatibility I noticed while using this phone on the T-mobile network. Downloaded a public transportation ticket in Stockholm, Sweden which displays as a QR code. On my Moto phone the QR code displayed fine filling the entire width of screen; on the TCL phone the QR code displayed tiny and could NOT be magnified (pinch and zoom). QR was displayed too small to be read by the ticket scanners and nothing I tried was able to magnify it.

Great Phone…But didn’t work with my carrier. – I have only had this phone for a few days, but had phone call issues immediately. I could receive calls okay but had problems making calls. It would take me two or three attempts to get a call through. (I later found out the phone was connecting at 2G service.) I thought initially that I had done something wrong when I transferred my SIM to it. I reread the carrier instructions again and had done everything correctly. My next step was to call my plan carrier, Mint Mobile.

Good Phone-But if your are on ATT there is something you might need to know. – We bought 3 of these phones in December. Right from the start we loved them. The large screen is great, the battery life is outstanding, and the over all performance of the TCL 10 SE has been better than I could have hoped for. We use PureTalk for service which is on the ATT network. As you probably know, ATT and all the other major carriers are in the process of shutting down their 3G networks. I can only address what we have experienced with PureTalk and ATT. But, when our local 3G was shut down, we lost the ability to make voice calls on our phones. Data and texting were not affected. Only voice calls were lost. I worked for several days doing my own research and talking to my carrier and TCL tech support. ATT requires VOLTE on any phones now on their network. This phone does VOLTE, however, it appears that ATT is blocking many unlocked phones from using that protocol to make calls. I have no idea why they are doing this. I have discovered a work around for the time being. It’s not the best, but it works for me. To once again make voice calls on my phone, I had to build my own APN using information I found on line. Neither PureTalk, or TCL was able to tell me how to do this. APN’s are built in your Settings under Network & Internet, Cellular network, Access Point Names. It is not hard, but it has to be correct. Look online for ATT NXTGENPHONE APN, and you should find how to do it. Here is the downside. That will ONLY give you the ability to make calls again on the ATT network. At least for me, I have to swap back to my regular carrier’s APN to use my data. Basically, I stay on my NXTGENPHONE APN most of the time. I am on WI-FI at home and work anyway. The only real time this is a bit tricky is in my car while trying to use GPS. I have to be back on my carrier’s APN for data, and thus, I lose the ability to make calls. It is not a perfect system, but I don’t want to have buy my whole family another new phone at the moment, so this is what we are doing for now. I hope someone can benefit from all my research. The info is out there, and you don’t have to be an engineer to make it work. Good luck!
