Warning to anyone using other carriers! But still a great phone – Received the phone unlocked and new as promised. However, there are still other issues:

Unbeatable value on a stunning phone! – For the price, this phone is phenomenal. I received my device brand new in box, with all original components in tact and new as well. Yes, this is an unlocked AT&T device, so there will be an AT&T logo on startup and a couple carrier specific apps, most of which can be disabled and hidden through app settings. However, the phone is certainly unlocked and works great with T-Mobile for me.

Tethering tied to ATT only – I have had the LG G5 for many years, but dropped it recently and broke the screen – so I thought I’d rather upgrade! My G5 was COMPLETELY virgin – no bloatware, just pristine Android phone, that I bought on Amazon for $250 several years ago. It was completely unlocked, and since I travel to Europe a LOT, I always used local EU SIMs and G5 always worked like a charm, including tethering – which I use a LOT to connect my laptop to my phone. So, the LG V35 ThinQ is an awesome phone – I loved it …. until, I started testing the functionality that I must have. It worked out of the box on my Cricket Wireless SIM, it also by default enabled wifi calling on Cricket Wireless, however it would not up allow me to even start tethering unless I have an ATT SIM. This was really shocking … shame on ATT on blocking basic Andriod functionality by installing their ROM and blocking built-in Android features! So, sadly, I ended up returning the phone!
