      Remains operational in equatorial downpours – Only rarely does one feel the temperature drop as a tropical pressure wave rolls in here on the oceanic equator. This afternoon cold air dragged down by an intense tropical downpour enveloped me while out on a run. Intense rain fell like a waterfall from the sky. This was the test run I had been waiting for. And like the King Kong 5s larger stablemate, the Tripltek tablet, the King Kong 5 was touch screen operational despite the deluge. The pouring rain falling directly on the screen was no problem for the 5. Being able to take a midrun photo during the rain was a completely new experience. I am quite amazed. In a phone that costs less than the running shoes I wear on my feet. Impressive. I use the King Kong 5 for running only, which is made possible for me by the price point. In this niche use the screen size is an asset: I want something smaller, lighter, and weatherproof. And the King Kong 5 delivers.

      I wish it worked. – If you live in the US dont buy it, it says unlocked for all carriers but that is a lie, I have not found one yet that can put a sim in it. The case is awesome! Definitely rugged enough for Sasquatch life and I love the look and feel of it, ***But so far to the best of my knowledge, US carriers will not service this phone***
